The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey #teasertuesday

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

•Grab your current read
•Open to a random page
•Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
•BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
•Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This week my teaser comes from The Snow Child: A Novel by Eowyn Ivey. I'm not qute halfway through it and find it a delightful little book. Part fairy tale, part fantasy, even a little bit of a mystery - at least where I am in the book right now - I'm finding myself really getting sucked into this cold, wintery world and want to know more about Mabel and Jack and this strange girl they found in the woods. (If she really IS a girl at all!! Right now we have no idea!!) Anyway, my teaser comes from pages 68/69 on my nook:

In the light of day, her dreams were drained of their nightmarish quality, and they seemed whimsical and strange, but the taste of loss remained in her mouth. It was difficult to focus on her tasks and she often drifted aimlessly through her own mind.
