26 Things January 2009
Photo Friday: Pet

Today mom and I did our taxes. Yuck! Granted it's much easier now that we have H & R Block Tax Cut softwear, but it's still not a fun way to spend a holiday! Anyway, we got it all done, and now I am anxiously awaiting my I.O.U. from the State of California! Hee!

Afterward we celebrated with a couple squares of yummy Dove milk-chocolate-with-almonds-and-blueberries candy bar and a glass (each) of Orchid Hill Viognier. Delicious!

Later I ventured out to the back garden (after it stopped raining), to see how thing are going. I have been concerned the gophers (who have been tearing up the back yard the past few weeks, rotten buggers!) might've eaten my mini daffodil bulbs, because they hadn't started sprouting, yet, but I went to look for them, I found they alive and well, and coming up fast!

This bunch in particular is doing very well:

I also noticed my little tree is getting teeny tiny buds and will hopefully be blooming soon:

And this rosemary shrub is blooming again:

We've been getting a lot of rain the past couple of weeks, which is great, but unfortunately it means a mini pond in our back yard:

Everything looks great back there, but I know it needs a lot of work. Mom doesn't want to deal with it and doesn't really care, so it's all up to me. I'm conflicted: do I put a ton of money into the back yard (and front; really I should do something with the front, too) when I don't really plan to spend the rest of my life in this house, or just go for it and hope when it's time to move, I get the money back?

*sigh* I hate making decisions! Perhaps I'll ponder it over another glass of wine!
