Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
•Grab your current read
•Open to a random page
•Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
•BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
•Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Last week I ran over to the library and picked up a real live book (!!) that at least one critic compared to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, one of my all-time favourite reads. Naturally I was intrigued, and so far I must say it is living up to the hype. Not that it's any better (or could ever possibly BE better) than Hitchhiker's Guide, but it has a similar humour that I'm enjoying immensely. Here's s my teaser for Year Zero by Rob Reid from page 111:
"So that one little law," I marveled, "has turned the entire universe ... on its head."
"It has," Carly said. "Which is why we think someone's about to destroy the Earth."
