Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
•Grab your current read
•Open to a random page
•Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
•BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
•Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Today I read a short story called Mannequin by Susan Helene Gottfried. I just finished This Is Not A Testbefore the bus got to SLO, and really didn't want to start another book on Nicky because I'm picking up a couple novels from the library this afternoon. And, I didn't feel like just sitting there looking out the window watching the world go by, dreading going to work, so I loaded up this short story I've had on my nookshelf for a while, and read the whole thing before getting to the bus stop.
"Let's go see what Ken's up to today," Lynne's dad would say to her, putting his hand on the back of her head. It was supposed to be a gesture of affection, but the real love came from the way Lynne's dad called the mannequin Ken.
